Dianne started her career with, then, Shearson Lehman Brothers in 1987, in Pittsburgh, PA. Recruited and mentored, in a time when few women had a seat in the Wall Street “bull pen”. Dianne’s move to the metro DC area in 1994 was prompted by her husband’s move up the corporate ladder at AT&T. It was then Dianne joined Brenda as she was developing the Blisk Financial Group. In 1997, Dianne joined Brenda in the transition to Spire Investment Partners.

Empowering women to take charge of their finances through education, advice and creative collaboration has been at the cornerstone of Dianne’s career. In 1999 Dianne was certified as a Divorce Financial Planning Specialist and achieved the CDFA to be better arm divorcing clients with information and financial solutions to enable financial equality and equitable outcomes during property settlement.

Dianne’s life focus is a strong love of family and friends. Coming from a large family, the ninth of twelve children, she is energized by being in a crowd and considers herself fortunate to be surrounded by the BFG family and clients who also fall into that circle.

“The theme of friends and family and the inclusion of clients into that mix has become a natural extension of the way I’ve found myself living out my parents motto “work hard and be kind”. My best work and my kindest self are evident in our client relationships.”

Likewise my husband, Steve, and our kids have become close with many of our clients through our focus on supporting their businesses. We’ve found ourselves expanding our musical experiences at the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, ordering cappuccino’s at various neighborhood Starbucks constructed by our clients, receiving fashion advice from a client fashionista, ongoing dental care, the kids orthodontia and the experiences continue grow as our collective businesses grow.

As a former commuter college student I love seeing the aspirations of our client’s college students and watching them on their journeys as they are accepted into Ivy leagues and other remarkable universities. I’m hoping they inspire my own children, Grace and Hayes. We talk about these success stories at home not only out of joy for achievement but to reinforce with our kids the value of hard work and education, and of course, to be nice!
